Amping Up on LinkedIn: 4 Tips to Raise Visibility
While patiently (insert laugh for those who know me well) awaiting the completion of my branding and website for Amped Up Marketing, I made the strategic decision to launch my business on LinkedIn. Why? Well, according to LinkedIn statistics, a staggering 80% of B2B leads originate from this platform, making it an immensely powerful tool for generating leads and fostering business growth. This statistic underscores the significance of LinkedIn as a primary avenue for professional services firms to connect with potential clients, cultivate relationships, and ultimately drive revenue.
Research further reveals that an astounding 91% of executives consider LinkedIn their preferred platform for professionally relevant content. This illustrates that LinkedIn is widely regarded as a trusted source of information and a platform where professionals seek valuable insights and expertise. For professional services firms, maintaining a robust presence on LinkedIn is not just beneficial; it’s essential for enhancing credibility, increasing visibility, establishing thought leadership, and positioning oneself as a trusted resource within the industry.
Are you harnessing the full potential of LinkedIn for your business? Here are some key strategies to consider:
1. Commit to 10 Minutes a Week: Dedicate a minimum of 10 minutes each week to ensure you’re effectively leveraging LinkedIn. Use this time to connect with relevant individuals you've encountered throughout the week, send personalized notes to connections, engage with posts from your network, and review and respond to connection requests. Consistently investing just 10 minutes a week can yield significant results over time. Use the post scheduler to plan out posts over a month or week when your schedule will be hectic to stay present.
2. Optimize Your Company Page and Profile: Take the time to optimize your company page or personal profile on LinkedIn. Just this week, I helped my American Marketing Association mentee (shout out to the incredible Mariyah Walters) start to build out her profile. Give yourself a meaningful headline. Provide a comprehensive overview of your brand, including your products or services, mission, values, and any relevant updates. Regularly update your page or status with news, industry insights, employee spotlights, or Q&As to keep your followers informed and engaged.
3. Be Social: Scroll your homepage and Like, Comment, and Share posts from your network. Take the time to provide thoughtful comments that add value to the conversation. This strengthens your relationship with contacts and increases visibility for both of you within your respective networks. Additionally, sharing their content demonstrates your support and appreciation for their contributions.
4. Be a Thought Leader: If you're producing content, ensure it's being shared on LinkedIn. Utilize LinkedIn to publish or re-share your long-form articles, sharing your expertise with a broader audience. By consistently publishing valuable content, you can establish your brand as an authority in your industry and attract followers who are keen on engaging with your expertise.
It's not rocket science; it's commitment. Just ten minutes a week can make you and your brand more visible and strengthen your connections. Go ahead and put a hold on your calendar now. And stay tuned for my brand launch!
